Wedge presents Epoch II: Anomalies at Material Matters London, a collection that explores ecological material intelligence through sculptural furniture and experimental fabrication.
At the heart of Epoch II: Anomalies is an exhibition at Space House, a restored modernist landmark in central London. The collection continues Wedge’s exploration of ecological materials and hybrid craft, proposing design as a generative act of separating, adjusting, and recomposing matter, meaning, and form.
Co-founded by theoretical physicist Andy Zhang with artist-designers Lei Zhang and Peiyan Zou, Wedge is a London-based design and research studio working across digital fabrication, computational design, and material science. The studio combines advanced manufacturing with the sensibility of craft, reshaping systems and constructing new spatial imaginaries through sculptural furniture, interiors, and research-based installations. Epoch II: Anomalies embraces imperfection and material drift as active principles, extending Wedge’s ethos of ecological material research into a wider cultural dialogue.
Counterpoint: Mise en Abyme — London
As a counterpoint, Wedge also presents Mise en Abyme: London at The Black Shop in King’s Cross, bringing together artists from across disciplines in an exhibition of sculpture, moving image, and installation. Together, the two sites invite visitors to encounter echoes and reflections across contexts, each reframing the other. You can find details of Mise en Abyme: London at The Black Shop here.
